Frequently asked questions
How does virtual try-on work?
Open your design and tap ‘Try on me’. Add a front-facing full-body or half-body photo of yourself. Your garment appears on your photo, ready to save or share. Each try-on costs 1 credit. The final result may vary.
What happens to my photo after a try-on?
Your photo is sent to OpenAI only to create the image. Atelia does not store it. The provider may keep it for up to 30 days to prevent abuse, then deletes it, and does not use it to train its models. Only add photos of yourself.
How much does it cost to produce a piece?
The price varies by fabric, complexity and quantity. You receive a transparent quote from the manufacturer before committing, with no middleman.
How long does production take?
Generally between 2 and 6 weeks depending on the piece and the workshop's workload. Production tracking is visible right in the app.
Who owns the final design?
You do, 100%. Atelia claims no rights over your creations — they belong entirely to you.
What if the sample doesn't suit me?
You can request adjustments and comment directly in the app. We iterate with the workshop until the piece is exactly right.
Do I need design or sewing skills?
No. The AI guides you at every step, from moodboard to techpack. No technical skills required.
What is the MOQ (minimum order quantity) with partner manufacturers?
Small runs are possible depending on the partner factory. The exact MOQ is shown on each factory profile.
How do credits work?
An image costs 1 credit, a tech pack costs 15. You receive 5 credits when you sign up and 3 every month. You can buy packs (credits never expire) or subscribe to receive credits every month.
Do my credits expire?
Credits purchased in packs never expire. Unused subscription credits roll over for one month.
Can I contact a factory without a subscription?
Yes. All you need is a tech pack: send it to the factory from the app to start a conversation.
How much does a tech pack cost?
15 credits, or €3.75 to €5.99 depending on your offer. A freelancer typically charges $85 to $750.
